Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2 September 2026

RoundFlow is built to respect your privacy. In short: no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no selling of data. Almost everything stays on your device. Two features — training together in a room, and the Lock Screen timer — send a small amount of data to a server we run, only while you use them, and that data is deleted shortly afterwards. This page explains exactly what, why and for how long.

What stays on your device

Your timer profiles, settings, training history, on-device usage counters and Roadwork routes are stored only on your iPhone (and synced to your Apple Watch). They are not sent to us or to anyone else.

What we collect, and why

RoundFlow has no accounts. We run a small server (a Cloudflare Worker) for the two features below. It receives data only while you are using those features, and nothing it receives is used for advertising, profiling or tracking, or shared with any third party.

Train together (rooms)

When you create or join a room, your phone sends the 4-digit room code, the display name you chose, an app-generated random member ID, and — for the host — the round settings of the workout. While the room is live your phone sends, every few seconds, your current heart rate, heart-rate zone, average heart rate, Effort score and time spent in the peak zone, so the people in your room can see them. Cheers you send (an emoji) are delivered to the other members the same way. This data is held only for the room and is deleted from the server automatically no later than two hours after the room was created — at most two hours after your session ends, and usually sooner. Nothing is kept beyond that. Leave the room to stop sharing at any time.

Lock Screen timer (Live Activity)

To keep the round timer correct on your Lock Screen while your phone is locked, your phone sends a Live Activity push token issued by Apple, the profile name and the round schedule (phase names and times) to our server, which sends the timer updates back to your phone through Apple's push service. The token identifies this Live Activity on your device only; it is not linked to you and is deleted when the workout ends or the schedule is finished.

Apple Health

With your permission, RoundFlow reads heart rate (live, from your Apple Watch or a connected sensor), active energy, body mass, date of birth and biological sex from Apple Health. Heart rate is used to show your live heart rate and zones during a workout; the others are used to make the calorie estimate accurate for you. If you turn on "Save to Apple Health", RoundFlow also writes your finished workouts (type, duration and estimated active energy) to Apple Health.

Health data is processed and stored on your device. The one exception is heart rate while you are in a live room, which is sent to our server as described above so your training partners can see it. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings; RoundFlow keeps working without it.

Location

Roadwork uses your location, only while a run is active, to draw your route and measure distance and pace. Routes are stored on your device only and are never sent to us. You can revoke access in iOS Settings.

Music & audio

RoundFlow lowers ("ducks") other apps' audio when it plays a bell or voice cue, using Apple's standard audio system. It does not read, access, or store your music, media library, or any data from other apps.

Purchases

RoundFlow Pro is purchased through Apple's App Store. All payments and subscription management are handled by Apple — we never see or store your payment details.

Sharing and links

Share cards and links you send from RoundFlow contain a public App Store link. That link may carry Apple campaign parameters that let Apple count installs from shared links in aggregate; they contain no personal data and cannot identify you or the person you share with.

Analytics and third parties

RoundFlow contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. The app keeps a few simple usage counters on your device to decide what to show you; they never leave your phone. We do not sell data and do not use it for advertising.

Data retention and deletion

Children

RoundFlow is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children. The data described above is collected only when a feature is used, and is not linked to an account.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page with a new effective date.

What changed

2 September 2026. Earlier versions of this page said RoundFlow had "no servers", that data "never leaves your device", and that the app "does not read any data from Apple Health". Since the Train together (rooms) and Lock Screen timer features were added, RoundFlow runs a small server for those two features and reads heart rate and a few profile values from Apple Health. This version describes what is sent, why, and how long it is kept. Nothing else about how we treat your data has changed: no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no selling of data.
