Before you write, the answers below cover almost everything people ask.

I paid and my pages are gone

Page credits live on the iPhone they were bought on. They are consumable purchases, like a top-up, so Apple cannot restore them to a new phone or after deleting the app. This is why the store says “Pages live on this iPhone” before you buy.

If pages disappeared without you deleting the app, write to us with the date of purchase and we will sort it out.

It says it cannot reach the translation service

That message means the problem is on our side, not your connection. Translation runs through our own server; when it is down or busy, nothing you do on your phone will help. Try again in a few minutes.

If it says you have translated a lot today, you have reached a daily ceiling that protects the service from abuse. It resets within a day.

Voice does not offer my language

Calque translates documents in 129 languages, but listening to speech uses Apple’s speech recognition, which supports around sixty. Languages Apple cannot listen to are not shown in the Voice tab, because picking one would only fail afterwards.

Somali, Tigrinya and Pashto are among the ones Apple does not support yet. Documents in those languages work normally.

Why does my free page have a mark on it

Every day you get one page translated for free, and that page carries a small watermark. Pages paid for with credits do not.

The translation looks wrong or a name is missing

Tap the block on the page to see the original, and edit the text if you want to. Corrections are remembered and reused in later documents, on your device only.

Amounts, dates and negations are checked against the original automatically, and anything that differs is marked on the page.

Can I get the app in Norwegian

Not yet. The interface is English in this version. It is the first thing on the list.

What happens to my documents

Nothing leaves your phone except the page being translated, and only after you agree to it. There is no account and no analytics. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
